Graduates earn 1,977 degrees, certificates from the University of Southern Indiana


About 25.9 percent of the 1,977 degrees and certificates handed out by the University of Southern Indiana in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Evansville conferred 344 bachelor's degrees and 91 master's degrees in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in registered nursing/registered nurse. Data shows the school gave out 176 bachelor's degrees in registered nursing/registered nurse, followed by 140 master's degrees in general business administration and management and 107 bachelor's degrees in health/health care administration/management.

The university enrolled 11,004 students for 2017-18, including 9,688 in undergraduate programs and 1,316 in graduate programs.
