Graduates earn 7,948 degrees, certificates from Indiana University-Purdue University-Indianapolis


About 23.1 percent of the 7,948 degrees and certificates handed out by Indiana University-Purdue University-Indianapolis in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Indianapolis conferred 787 bachelor's degrees and 503 doctor's degrees in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in general business/commerce. Data shows the school gave out 558 bachelor's degrees in general business/commerce, followed by 456 bachelor's degrees in registered nursing/registered nurse and 323 master's degrees in social work.

The university enrolled 29,791 students for 2017-18, including 21,610 in undergraduate programs and 8,181 in graduate programs.
