Graduates earn 726 degrees, certificates from Indiana University-Northwest


About 28.6 percent of the 726 degrees and certificates handed out by Indiana University-Northwest in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Gary conferred 153 bachelor's degrees and 42 associate's degrees in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in general business/commerce. Data shows the school gave out 83 bachelor's degrees in general business/commerce, followed by 72 bachelor's degrees in registered nursing/registered nurse and 56 bachelor's degrees in general studies, liberal arts and sciences, and other humanities.

The university enrolled 4,055 students for 2017-18, including 3,700 in undergraduate programs and 355 in graduate programs.
