Aviation Institute of Maintenance-Indianapolis issued the following announcement on July 11

Aviation Institute of Maintenance (AIM) Manassas Campus is honored to host the State of Virginia’s Secretary of Education, Atif Qarni, at their Jet Tech Camp on Friday, July 12, 2019, from 2:00 p.m. till 4:00 p.m., at 10640 Davidson Place, Manassas, VA 20109.

AIM Manassas’ Jet Tech Camp offers participants a glimpse into the world of aircraft maintenance through hands-on learning. Camp attendees will spend time in AIM’s hangars, classrooms, and labs, learning about the basics of aviation maintenance. Topics covered will include aircraft systems and powerplants, ground operations, safety wiring, physics of flight, and much more. This is the perfect opportunity for individuals who are interested in working with their hands. The camp will also provide a preview of the skills aviation maintenance technicians perform after obtaining their certification.

Secretary Qarni, along with other political figures, will participate in safety wiring, engine tear down, flight simulation, and other aviation maintenance tasks. A tour of the facility will provide the Secretary of Education insight into the daily experience of an AIM student.
