1.9 percent of Indiana University-Bloomington students played sports on university teams in 2016-2017


In 2016-2017, 1.9 percentage of Indiana University-Bloomington students participated in collegiate sports, according to data made available by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES).

Indiana University-Bloomington has 33,429 undergraduate students, of which 51 percent are men and 49 percent are women, and a total student body of 43,710 students. Of these students, 441 men and 389 women represented the school by participating in one or more of the sports with teams at the school.

This total does not include students playing intramural sports.

According to NCES, 4.3 percent of students enrolled at institutions of higher education with sports teams were on teams.

The sports at Indiana University-Bloomington with the most participants are all track combined (240), football (128) and rowing (92).
