Ball State University recently issued the following announcement.

On the opening School of Music General Recital Hour for Spring 2019, Misha and Annette will present Ravel's Sonata for Violin and Cello on their inaugural collaboration together. The two met while participating in the 2017 Bowdoin Festival Fellowship where they had the opportunity to perform alongside legendary artists as their colleagues.

Misha Vayman has been received nationally and internationally with critical acclaim. He has performed as a soloist with many orchestras, including the Starling Chamber Orchestra at the Forbidden City Concert Hall in China, Fort Wayne Philharmonic, Symphony of the Lakes Orchestras, Lake Charles Symphony, El Paso Symphony, Poway Symphony, Juarez Symphony, and the St. Petersburg Philharmonic. Recent chamber music performances have included collaborations with artists such as members of the Calidore String Quartet, members of the Jupiter String Quartet, David Requiro, June Han, Kurt Muroki, Carmit Zori, and Joseph Johnson, among others. Misha is currently a member of the Benefic Piano Trio, grand prize winners of the 2018 ENKOR International Music Competition. He is also on faculty at the Benefic Chamber Music Festival. Misha earned a Bachelor of Music from the Cleveland Institute of Music, a Master of Music from the Colburn Conservatory, and is currently in his post-graduate studies under Lina Bahn at the University of Southern California. An avid chamber musician, Annette Jakovčić won first prize and audience prize at the Plowman Chamber Music Competition and the bronze medal at the Fischoff Chamber Music Competition as a member of the Ivani Quartet. She has performed internationally in solo and chamber music recitals in Italy, Romania, Croatia, France, Austria, Japan, and Korea. Annette has spent summers playing in master classes and chamber music programs such as the Casals Festival and Ravel Academy in France, Yellow Barn Young Artist Program, and the Allegro Vivo festival in Austria. She also participated in the Bowdoin International Festival as a fellow with her quartet. Annette is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree at the New England Conservatory where she studies with Laurence Lesser. Past chamber coaches include Paul Katz, Kim Kashkashian, and Merry Peckham, as well as members of the Juilliard, Alban Berg, Brentano, Pacifica, Borromeo, and St. Lawrence quartets. Annette previously studied with Wendy Warner at the Columbus State University in Columbus, GA.

FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

Misha and Annette will present solo works for violin and cello and give a presentation for Ball State string students during the string-area studio class time at Noon on Wednesday, January 9 in Hahn Recital Hall.
