Roanoke Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement.

Bring your family and friends and enjoy a weekend of festivities as we celebrate the Christmas season.

Friday

Watch for Santa as he arrives by fire truck at 6 pm on Main Street. Children can meet with Santa at the former Town Hall and visit with live reindeer from 6 – 8 pm. Sing along as carolers fill the streets with holiday cheer and enjoy hot cocoa, cookies and hot dogs provided by the Lions Club and Union Church. Shops will be open until 8:00 pm.

Saturday

Enjoy breakfast with Santa at Cornerstone Alliance Church from 8:30 – 10:30 am (a goodwill donation appreciated). In the afternoon, families can donate new toys to the Lutheran Children’s Hospital on Main Street, visit with Santa from 1 – 3 pm on Main Street, enjoy free activities for kids sponsored by The Trove, Moose and Mollie's, Trends Hair Studio and United Methodist Women of Seminary United Methodist Church from 1 – 4 pm on Main Street, and listen to carols as carolers sing through town. United Methodist Women will be selling cookies and hot cocoa. Shops will be open from 10 am – 5 pm.

Festivities at a Glance:

Friday

6 pm: Santa arrives by fire truck on Main Street

6 − 8 pm: Meet with Santa and visit with live reindeer

Sing carols and enjoy hot cocoa, cookies and hot dogs

provided by the local Lion's Club and Union Church

Shops open until 8 pm

Saturday

8:30 − 10:30 am: Breakfast with Santa at Cornerstone Alliance Church

1− 3 pm: Meet with Santa on Main Street

1− 4 pm: Enjoy complimentary kids activities on Main Street

Shops open until 5 pm

Toy donations to Lutheran Children's Hospital are encouraged, but not mandatory. Toys must be new.

Most of the holiday festivities will be held on Main Street, unless otherwise noted.
